Shahjahan Shishir, the dismissed chairman of Chandpur Kachua Upazila Parishad, was brought to Sadar Hospital by the police in a case filed under the Digital Security Act and the beating of a Kachua Education Assistant Engineer. After bringing him to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon, the doctor on duty saw him and referred him to Comilla Medical Hospital for better treatment as his physical condition was not good.
After a case was filed against Kachua Upazila Parishad Chairman Shahjahan Shishir, he appeared in the Chandpur court on August 25 and the court denied him bail and sent him to jail. During his two months in jail, he was taken to hospital for treatment for chest pain, diabetes and cancer.
Chandpur Sadar Hospital RMO Hasibul Hasan Asif and Surgical Doctor Monirul Islam closely monitored him and advised him to be taken to Comilla Medical Hospital for better treatment.
Later, the jail authorities and the investigating officer of the case took him from Sadar Hospital to Comilla Medical Hospital.
Shahjahan Shishir has been granted bail by the High Court in a case filed against Kachua Education Deputy Assistant Engineer Noor Alam for beating him up. But in a case filed under the Digital Security Act, he was granted bail by the High Court but the prosecution stayed his bail order for eight weeks.
