One of the common misconceptions about pregnancy in our country is that pregnant mothers cannot eat pineapple because it increases the risk of abortion.
A report from the UK Baby Center, a UK-based mother and child health organization, says eating pineapple during pregnancy is completely safe. Scientists do not have any evidence of abortion at the moment.
Like many other fruits it is extremely healthy and has a lot more fiber so it relieves constipation during pregnancy.
Pineapple contains a substance called bromelain which was formerly used for abortion but the amount in a pineapple is much less. If one eats 10 pineapples at a time, the amount of bromelain in the body is only 30 percent of the risk of abortion. Now say someone can eat more than 3/4 piece of pineapple.
Interestingly, in addition to pineapple, the presence of bromelain in oranges, mangoes and pickles is higher than in pineapples.
Apples, oranges, mangoes, pineapples and watermelons are good for health during pregnancy. There is no problem in eating ripe papaya in this way, but there is a risk of miscarriage as raw papaya and semi-ripe papaya contain latex products.
