Our romantic relationships bring so much meaning and joy to our days, but they can also be the first thing we neglect when life gets in the way.

Whether it’s because of kids, money concerns or just the daily grind, it’s easy to let intimacy drift from your relationship as the years go by. Which is why it’s important to make time for your other half and vice versa.

1. Outdoor cinema picnic
During the warmer months, enjoy a film with added romance. 3. Luxe dinner in the city

4. Stargazing
Discover the endless beauty of our wonderful night sky and solar system with stargazing at one of the National Trust locations. Black Down in West Sussex and Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland are among the organisation’s best spots to admire the night sky.

5. Board game night
Whether it is Monopoly, Scrabble or Cluedo, spending the night trying to break out of jail or forming words better than Shakespeare generates an all round fun date night. 6. Drive-in movie night

10. Tour a local winery
Drink your way through the date and sample the exquisite taste of wines or sprits from your local area (or around the world) on a brewery or winery evening tour.

11. Play a couple’s game

Dance the night away at an outdoor concert or festival. Heading to day festivals in the summertime is one of our favourite ways to mix up date nights. Live music + an incredible atmosphere + the person we love the most = perfection.

18. Try your hand at darts
Whether you’re an expert or a total beginner, an evening playing darts at Flight Club is a great way to bring out your date’s competitive side. There are venues around the UK, including London, Bristol, Liverpool and Manchester. Refuel with small plates, pizzas and cocktails after the game.

19. Make your own cocktails
Meeting for a cocktail is a classic date night idea – but making your own martini is a more creative way of enjoying drinks together. There are a range of cocktail classes accompanied by professional mixologists on offer around the UK, with the option of post-drinks dinner at many of them.

20. Dinner date cruise
Hop on board a boat for a romantic meal on a river cruise. From two-course dinners on the Thames to a sightseeing experiences in Oxford, these are foodie date nights with a difference.
